MLB Owners, Players Sign Labor Agreement

I hope the NBA is watching as it seems it is the only organization that cannot find labor peace. Major League Baseball owners and MLB players have agreed on a 5 year Collective bargaining agreement. There are some interesting things in the new agreement. Let us look at some of the new things that will come from this new agreement.
One of the two big things is blood testing for human growth hormone. For awhile I did not think that would be included in this contract, but it was. It is good for baseball and everyone concerned. The other big thing is the expanding of the playoff system. The two wild cards in each league will be the non-first place teams with the best records, and will meet in a one-game playoff, and the winners will move on to the Division Series.
Looking over the whole agreement it looks good for the most part. I like the additional of another playoff team to the mix. I do not like the one game playoff though, as I think a best of three would be a much better idea if you ask me. We will have to see how all the changes work out for baseball.
At least though they have agreed on something and are not in limbo like the NBA. We will have at least five more years of MLB Baseball, so I could not be happier for the fans. Baseball is a great game and having labor peace should grow the sport even more in the future.
