Justin Verlander Logical Choice For American League Cy Young
November 16th 2011 02:11
Justin Verlander of the Detroit Tigers without a doubt deserved the 2011 Cy Young as he took all the 1st Place Votes. Jered Weaver finished second in the balloting and James Shields finished third/ CC Sabathia was the guy everyone thought was going to be the winner, but fell off towards the end of the season.
Verlander could also get more hardware as he may just win the American MVP as well. That would be a rare feat as winning the MVP and Cy Young in the same year is very tough. Voters many times do like to give the same person both awards.
