Big Puma has a thorn in his paw
March 31st 2010 14:49
It was announced today that the Houston Astros will have to open the regular season with their best player on the Disabled List. How Houston is going to go on with Yorman Bazardo on the opening day roster is beyond me.
Wait, what? You say Bazardo isn't the best player in the state of Texas? Oh that's right. Lance Berkman is actually the one that 'Stros fans should be worried about.
Berkman had surgery to scrape out his knee on March 13th, and he's still not ready to go. Berkman, who is either known as Big Puma, or 'Fat Elvis' depending on who you talk to, has only played in five games this spring, but he has hit .364 in limited action.
Bazardo, (who I think has the coolest name in baseball) has only pitched two innings this spring, and has gotten lit up.
Houston should be expecting to finish somewhere near the bottom of the NL Central no matter how many games Berkman plays in this season.
