Bartolo Colon Sings One-Year Deal With A's

I will have to admit seeing Bartolo Colon landing in Oakland really does not come as a surprise to me. After the Oakland A's traded away Gio Gonzalez and Trevor Cahill during the winter you knew they were in the market for a pitcher. Colon pitched with the New York Yankees last season and did show some flashes of his former self. He also can still get the ball up to 92MPH, so this may be a good pick-up for the A's.
The A's gave Colon a one-year deal and they really do not expect a lot from him. The Oakland A's are not going to be contending anytime soon, so this is just a pick-up to fill their rotation. Colon went 6-2 with a 2.71 ERA in his first 11 starts last season, but after the All-Star break, he went 2-6 with a 4.98 ERA. I guess we will have to wait and see how Colon does in Oakland, but I guess the A's could have done a lot worse than Colon.
